is your tax return compulsory in vawa and do vawa officials do background check on abuser
I compiling my vawa evidence and documents but I want to know if my tax return with the abuser or personal is needed for good moral or as proof of living together tho I have lease document, bank statements and life insurance that was just cancelled. Also do the do background check for the abuser and petitioner. thanks guys

Tax transcript is preferred which you can get from the IRS website, police clearance for good moral character, FBI fingerprints. VAWA is focused on you not the abuser so no background check needed for abuser
