IR5 (parents asked by citizen son) NBC/ FO El Paso, TX
Our journey finally comes to an end and I want to share our timeline. An advice from us in regards to the interview. Our interviews were scheduled a week apart. on my interview during registration I asked if my husband could do the interview with me and they happily agreed. That saved USCIS and us a weekšš½
good luck to you allš

I had my interview since February 17th
tanja sMay 10, 2022
it was just some yes/no question from I485. My sonās Birthdate, adress, our Birthdates, when we entered the country (we came with ESTA), if we have other children, SSN, and thatās about it. A lot of small talkš

congratulations!!! I only send my sonās pay stubs and Iām wondering if Inwoukd need his taxes as well. I have my 40 working credits on my SS. did they ask you for your sonās income? TIA
tanja sMay 10, 2022
Iāve sent my sons taxes for 20 with the package in August, also our co-sponsorās taxes ( our son is a student and doesnāt make enough money). Just for safety I took the recent tax docs with me to the interview, but the officer didnāt ask for it. He just wanted to see all original Birth Certificates.

The officer at our interview told us that they canāt waive the interview for parents anymore if the folder is saved in the new system. I assume if your reference number starts with IOE. I did hope the same and I am crossing my fingers for you, but eather way, youāll be fineš
Delfi RamirezMay 10, 2022
how you know when you need a co-sponsor?

I-864W
Form I-864W is for those who do not need to file for an official Affidavit of Support, yet are still applying for permanent residency. Form I-864W is an exception to Form I-864.
If you are petitioning for an immigrant who has 40 qualifying quarters of employment in the United States, then they do not need an Affidavit of Support. If you are unsure of how many qualifying quarters they have, then the Social Security Administration (SSA) can provide help.
I hoping that they donāt ask me for his taxes but Iāll bring them to the interview when that day comes š¤

tanja sMay 12, 2022
no problemāŗļø he wanted to see the original BC. I donāt know if they would agree to a copy. But I think Iāve read in some groups that a copy would be ok.
