our case was filed on October 3rd 2023 (it’s been 710 days as of today) and we got the case is actively being received same day. no updates after that!! I had congress reach out on my behalf couple of times and it’s always “case is processing normally” anyone else waiting from around the same time? any suggestions would help!

@anonymous A *“I had the same situation with my case. My priority date was also December 29, 2023, and my I-130 was not getting approved. I contacted my congressman and sent them all the valid supporting documents. After about one month, I got a reply from their office.
They informed me that my case had not yet been assigned to any officer. I explained to them that I had already been separated from my husband for a long time and requested urgent help.
Then they told me that they would send a request to USCIS. The very next day, my I-130 was approved

@anonymous A You can request help from the USCIS Ombudsman’s Office if your I-130 is delayed or if you are not getting any updates. The Ombudsman is part of the Department of Homeland Security and is independent from USCIS. Their job is to assist applicants with stuck cases.
👉 How to do it:**
1. Go to the Ombudsman’s official website: https://www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman
2. Click on ‘Request Case Assistance’.
3. Fill out the online form (Form 7001). You need your USCIS receipt number, personal information, and a short explanation of the problem.
4. Attach any documents that support your request (like receipt notices, letters, or proof of hardship).
5. Submit the form online.

@mohinee thakur thank you so much for all the helpful info!! I appreciate you! I actually filled out the ombudsman’s office form and they sent me the same email however I never replied to them. did you reply to the same email they sent you?
mohinee thakurSep 13, 2025
@anonymous A Yes, I replied to that email and also requested them to help me get my approval

@mohinee thakur when you say you requested them to help get approval do you mean you filed the form on the website or emailed them asking to help get approval.
