Hi Abel! I’ll be honest, your post scares me a bit. Our I-130 was recently approved and we received a NVC welcome later. my husband I currently in Mexico and everyone says the interview is the faster part of the immigration process, but your post kinda makes me feel the opposite. what does the process look like after I-130 approval? @Abel Baca

@h solis well to be honest we have been DQ with all our paperwork approved since april this year and still to date we still haven't received or heard anything from NVC with any dates for our interview in CDJ i have sent multiple inquiries and all i get is a consulate officer is reviewing your application i don't know what they are reviewing if everything has been approved and Documentary Qualified im kind of stressing we are going for about 8 months now since our last contact with NVC i have also tried contacting CDJ consulate and they redirect me to NVC inquiry portal so i really hope this journey ends soon and we all start getting answers

@Abel Baca from what I’ve been reading the average timeline for an IR-1 is a a year in two months since the NVC receives your application. Which is heartbreaking for most of us being long-distance couples. I know somebody who got their visa within six months in Iran. It is definitely due to the backlog.

we finally received our interview date for February 26,2024 exactly on Christmas best gift ever hopefully everything goes well and ill give you a whole breakdown from start to finish and what to expect

@Abel I'm so glad to hear that! I made an inquiry for my interview date. I've been waiting since August 17th and it's going to be 5 months this month. I hope to hear from them soon, you just gave me hope!

@h solis thank you! well heres a bit of our background we filed for IR1 back in dec 2021 it took us about a 1 1/2 to get approved from uscis and the from there we got sent to NVC in march 2023 we became Documentary qualified on April 18th of 2023 and we recieved our interview date exactly on Christmas 🫢 so its been about a almost 2 years or so for our whole process and we finally have our interview on February hoping everything goes as planned dont lose hope i was in the same situation frustrated without any responses besides a officer is reviewing your case thats the only answer we would get when we asked so now its just a waiting matter! i wish luck!
