interview
hi everyone! I call USCIS this morning to request expedite I-131 couple hours later I got a notification that my interview has been scheduled I live in NJ, my question is that even tho I live in NJ, they took my fingerprints in NYC. So I heard that my interview might be in NYC but they won’t let me go into interview without NY ID. So what should I do? thanks

yeah but I have a state ID and as far as I know they ask for state ID or drivers license during the interview. and not having ID on the address you live sounds like a red flag idk.

NJ & NY are like Bonnie and Clyde. NJseyers do go to NY for for interview with NJ ID. You dont have to worry about anything. Just take your Jersey ID with you and you good.

they didn’t ask me for any kind of id during my interview… is it because it’s a different state??

Don’t worry about that. it’s USCIS who schedule interviews and they know that you’re not residing in NYC so you’re good

I don’t think so… I live in NJ and we did fingerprints in Philadelphia and we still had our interview in NJ. usually many on these places that do the biometrics are third party contractors so just wait for the internetview notice. depending on where you live in NJ ypur field office might be Mount Laurel or Newark and I don’t think they will ask for NY State ID, many applicant aren’t even elegible to get a state ID so passport will do the work. which is proof of identity. I think you are basing your worries not on actual facts.
