Anyone have any experience or any advise on how it is the interview for employment based green card? Should I bring a attorney with me on the day? What kind of questions do they usually ask? #i485 #interview #eb3 #timeline #unskilled

My advise would be: bring the lawyer if you have the chance! I didn’t bring mine at the day and I regret a lot. They asked me the same questions (some of it) of my application (i485), and he asked about how did I find my sponsor (I don’t know if it’s the same with you, but I hired a company called BDV solutions. They found me my sponsor and they make the arrangements between the sponsor and me)… The agent made A LOT of questions, if I paid to the sponsor in order to have the application filled, (which I said OF COURSE NOT!), he asked me to see the emails between me and BDV.. anyways, A LOT of questions… It was thought. My lawyer would had made my life and this experience much more easier. When I had the interview my EAD wasn’t approved yet, so I wasn’t working for my sponsor. My EAD was approved last month and I’m going to start working for them next month. My interview was on August 31st. I still don’t have an answer. 😞
R
Rogerio MoraesJan 23, 2023
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. My company is BDV also. Did you had to print out the emails from BDV to show on the interview?
Lily CJan 23, 2023
He asked me to see my phone 😳 I showed him everything, he copied the names and emails on a paper.. and after the interview I told BDV how it went. He mostly asked about the relationship between me, BDV and the sponsor.. The interview lasted about 40 min. My husband is my dependend, his interview was about 15 min and he only asked the questions on the application. If I had another chance or if they call me for a second interview, I will DEFINITELY bring the lawyer with me.
R
Rogerio MoraesJan 23, 2023
Did you and your husband have separated interviews? I didn’t know that. I thought that they would do the interview together at once and both you and your dependent could answer the questions.
Lily CJan 24, 2023
I thought that too. Only when I was there I found out that ours would be separated… He called me first, and then my husband. As far as I knew, for employment based applications, the interviews were together. Mine was separated. I don’t know why.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Like I said, my husband’s interview was a way shorter and much more easier than mine.

BDV PUBLIC ENEMY #1Jan 24, 2023
So your case would still be approved before vb retrogresses further. Good luck.
Lily CJan 24, 2023
Boa sorte 🙏🏻
Lily CJan 24, 2023
@Hanson thank you 🙏🏻 I think that there’s also a chance that they are waiting until I move and start to work for my sponsor. My priority date is not retrogressed. It is July 2019. 🙏🏻 fingers crossed.

Estou perdida 🫠

If you bought your visa like from Bvd or other visa seller you should be concerned, they're denying it due to fraud, if your employment is legit you'll be good
R

It’s legit, I didn’t buy any visa. I just hired a company to find a sponsor for me.

Rogerio, my advise bring an attorney if you can. The experience is completely different, my husband and I had a 2 hours interview like a looot of questions. Every single thing about I140, and I485, they even visited me in my sponsors place to confirm if I was doing what they filled in my application. the questions that I remembered: - how you maintain yourself while you were waiting for the gc? - why are you going to work there if you have a degree? - did the recruiting agency promised you the gc? - what are your duties? how much are you earning? how many employees? I mean, be ready my experience was tough
R
Rogerio MoraesJan 24, 2023
@valeria thanks for sharing that
Lily CJan 24, 2023
That’s true. I’ve heard that they are visiting people on their worksite. Which it’s not a problem, because we are applying to work on those facilities. People saying shit about buying a visa, like that would be possible… just ignore them 😅

@valeria lopez, how did you answer the first two questions?
A
Ashleigh BrandsJan 26, 2023
@HOPE FAITH USCIS is aware of visa sellers agencies, especially EB3 unskilled.
valeria lopezJan 27, 2023
it was a tricky question, they want to know if I paid the sponsor to get the GC that’s fraud. the interview has a lot of questions and they are not there to approve as much as they can, they want to denie as much as they can
valeria lopezJan 28, 2023
yes I was approved after 21 months, my spouse was also in the interview we don’t have kids but as minors I don’t think they get the interview
Lily CJan 28, 2023
I do have a minor kid and she is my dependent. She didn’t have to attend the interview, only me and my husband.
Lily CJan 28, 2023
I believe that if they intended to interview one of your kids, they would send a letter on their names too. Me and my husband got separated letters, with the appointment on the same day and same time. I didn’t bring my daughter to the interview. I brought her documents and when the interview was finished I asked the agent if he needed to see or ask something about her.. He answered “no”, that she was fine.
Lily CJan 28, 2023
@valeria your case was approved 21 months after the interview or after you applied?

lona lona NguyenJan 28, 2023
bring with you a lawyer especially you filed i485J to port your Employer. I'm an BDV client too, and I want to port my employer too. People go through BDV too much and the immigration is watching all of the employers. BDV's service is so bad and they dont help at all if we have issue with employer. they took money from both sides, from employer and from us too. so better bring a lawyer and have they consulte about the documents too, it's not only Supplement J but also other documents

@Iona Iona Nguyen Did you fill I485J? I’m BDV client and I’m thinking to port my employer. Do you think is it a good idea?
l
lona lona NguyenJan 29, 2023
I'm still looking for another sponsor to port it, and my lawyer is there to help me with supplement J. My lawyer said that just find a similar job, no matter what it is a small or a big restaurant, as long as they sign the supplement J, cause since we have EAD we can work for any employer from now. BDV and my employer are holding hands and always thread all of employees even then have their GC already. we paid 20k but they never on our side
R
Rogerio MoraesJan 29, 2023
I’m from bdv and I left my employer before getting GC. I found another company, I just filled the supplement J but I didn’t send to USCIS yet. I’m waiting for my interview to show them the supplement J

@Iona Iona Nguyen and do they usually give supplement J tomrrduce the waiting time? or we need to ask them it? my sponsor has a big waiting list

I left my employer on the middle of last year and I just got the i-485J signed from another company, but I’m waiting for my interview to give them on the day. Im not working with the new company yet, but I’ll when my green card be approved.
BDV PUBLIC ENEMY #1Jan 29, 2023
@Rogerio Moraes lona lona Nguyen Is it just the low salary that makes you have to port your employer or do they treat you horrible as well? I am well aware that the jobs pays hardly any money, and I have a saving aside to cover at least half of the cost of living.
R
Rogerio MoraesJan 29, 2023
@Hanson I don’t know what company did you apply for, but in my case I had to deal with bad customer like homeless and the job it self was very demanding exhausted. It doesn’t make sense for you getting paid so low if you can continue the process in another company, in better environment and a better pay.
l
lona lona NguyenJan 29, 2023
I dont know how your employer treats you but mine is the worse. I dont care about money but they ask me to do much many things, they also reduce the peole they should hire so that we have to work as double as other. more than that, they yelling, forcing me to do the thing no one do in the kitchen, discriminate Eb3 employees with other regular one, really bad experience
l
lona lona NguyenJan 29, 2023
@rogerio you better work for your employer before the interview to have paystubs and to show your intention toward the job

Rogério, vc recebeu alguma RFE pedindo o form i485J?

Eles não me pediram nenhuma rfe além do exame médico.

@fred dantata No questions were asked about BDV neither how did I get the job position. My interview was super easy, but I believe it depends on the officer.

@Rogerio Moraes ok thanks for the response. I’m also a BDV client and i was worried about how to respond to that question.
R
Rogerio MoraesMar 13, 2023
@fred dantata Just be prepared for any questions. I brought all the documents that I had. If they ask about bdv, I would have the contract that I signed, payments and also a brief explanation on bdv website about what is bdv that I printed out.
f
fred dantataMar 13, 2023
@Rogerio Moraes thanks for the advise… i thought paying an agency such as BDV to link someone up with an Employer is illegal? Someone wrote that somewhere here. Did you discuss BDV with them during your interview? if yes, what questions were asked and how did you answer?
R
Rogerio MoraesMar 13, 2023
@fred dantata Don’t believe what everybody writes in here. Is totally fine for you to pay a company to find a sponsor for you. What is illegal is paying the sponsor/employer to get the job.
Joe JudahMar 17, 2023
E aí Roger, tudo certo na entrevista? Espero que sim 👍🏻
R
Rogerio MoraesMar 17, 2023
