Interview AOS F2A
Hi everyone, I was scheduled for my AOS interview (F2A – married to a permanent resident). In February I received an RFE for my medical exam because it had expired, so I sent the response. Today I received my interview notice. My concern is that about 5 months ago I moved to another state. The RFE (medical notice) and Interview notice were both sent to my current address (I updated my address with USCIS as soon as I moved), but the interview is scheduled in the state where I used to live. I can travel there without a problem, but I’m worried they might say they cannot adjudicate my case because I no longer live in that state. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

@B A Yes, this is my first interview since my I-130 was approved without an interview two years ago. Has something similar happened to you?

@MH MH oh no, I had an interview in 2024 before my 130 was approved. I also received a medical rfe in February. It’s funny how I can see your post on Reddit also 😂😂😂😂

@MH MH what’s your PD?

@MH MH I think you should travel to that field office and attend that interview. Bring proof that you filed address change. This current USCIS might deny the case if you don’t show up and then send you an NTA. You should definitely play it safe. Alternatively, overnight a letter to that field office informing them of your address change and attach proof that you filed an AR-11. That might get them to transfer your case to the correct field office. All the best!

@Rocco Forté thank you for your advice. I really appreciate it. My attorney contacted USCIS and requested a correction of the error. USCIS indicated that they will be sending me a notification or additional information. My attorney says that the office where I was scheduled does not have jurisdiction over my case. 😭This is really frustrating and overwhelming. I feel very discouraged right now.

@MH MH That’s great. Please make sure you follow up and get a written reassignment of your case to your current local field office. If you don’t get that notification like two weeks before your current interview then you need to raise dust until they do the proper thing.

@Rocco Forté I received an Uscis update today: “This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have canceled the previously scheduled interview on Thursday, April 30, 2026 for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. You will be notified of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice.”
