Do we need to have a valid passport while attending the interview? after our case is updated to ready to be schedule for interview, how long does it take to get the interview notice? Mine is already 2 months since the case is update to this status. my passport is expiring in Feb 1. Even if I renew passport it will atleast take a month to get a new one.

I think it just depend. mine took 6 months to get the update of scheduled interview. after I get the notice my interview was one month letter.

My friend's interview got canceled because he did not have his passport. They had to reschedule while some other officers don't care

you should get your passport renewed ASAP anyway you would need a valid passport for anything, remember that passport is most important identification outside your citizenship county.
