Immunization records for I-693
I had to fulfil a set of immunizations when getting my F1 student visa. These records came from doctors in my home country. Do I need to show the same records for my medical exam for I-693? I can’t seem to find them anymore

If you don’t have any proof, the dr will ask to do bloodwork for checking antibody for each vaccine. Depends on that results he will decide which all vaccines you need to take. This is what our dr did.

@J Z that’s good info! Will the doc need to take additional blood samples for this?

@Cat Dun When you go for your appointment with the civil surgeon, make sure to bring your vaccination records, which should include all the vaccines required for your age, passport and id. During your visit, they will either take a blood sample at their office or send you to a lab for testing for tuberculosis and syphilis or any test required in case you ain’t vaccinated. After completing these steps, they will check the results, vaccinate you if needed, then the civil surgeon will fill out a form for you and provide it in a sealed envelope, which you will need to submit along with all your other documents to USCIS. https://www.uscis.gov/tools/designated-civil-surgeons/vaccination-requirements

@Kar NIW i140-Nov 2023’ seems like you’ve done yours already

@f c Yes, I completed my exam last year. I was aware that this process could take some time, so I wanted to avoid any last-minute rush or complications. Since I couldn't locate my vaccination card from back home, I went ahead and got all the necessary vaccines again and created a new record here.

My doctor gave script to do those bloodwork from labcorp. Some doctors do take the blood sample in their office.

Like@Kar NIW i140-Nov 2023’ mentioned you can get it done in advance from any civil surgeon to avoid any last minute complication. Make sure you get the polio vaccine because USCIS has made it mandatory last year and many civil surgeons are not aware of that rule. Many got rfe for polio vaccine recently.

@Kar NIW i140-Nov 2023’ please how much did you pay
Kar (NIW) PD-Nov 2023’Sep 16, 2025
@f c I'm not entirely sure, but I think it was around $500, which included the blood test. Since I’ve already received all my vaccinations, this was quite pricey, I ended up getting them at CVS, they had the best price at that time.
