I’m confused…
We received the approval for my I-130 on past week. But in the approval notice USCIS told us that we have to fill an I-824 form because when we filled the I-130 we made the mistake for checking adjustment of status and consular process. On February 2024 when we noticed the error, we call USCIS to help us make the correction because our case was still haven’t been approved. on March we received the confirmation that the change was made. But on past week when we received the approval notice we us to fill the I-485 if we were going to adjust status or fill i-824 if we were doing consular process. We called USCIS on past week because we think that is error from them since we asked for the correction before the approval of our case. Today when we log in to our account at USCIS because we wanted to get our online account number we didn’t find it nor our profile section and then also we found that now it says “Case closed” but still approved. What does this means? Could USCIS have already send our case to NVC as we originally asked them to do when we make the correction with them? we haven’t received any other notification up to this day and we are really confused. please help!

it says case closed as soon as it is approved. if it was sent to nvc it would say case sent to department of state.

@N DeR but in your case did you noticed the error before the case was approved by USCIS and asked to correct it? Because we did that and we even received an email from them telling that they corrected it and that will be reviewed by the reviewing office at the time of their review or adjudication

@Juan Vidal no I did not. but i824 is a process that comes with a cost so if your case is closed then you need to start that process.based on errors it's only for typos not for omissions. the earlier you start this process the better. mine too 580 days for approval but I was with NBC the other offices are faster. check the processing time for updates. hope the fees for this has not increased. I had to pay 435 usd. I you were asked to file i824 please do.
