i864 forms
hey everyone, me and my wife were looking over the i864 forms and we know we are going to need a joint sponsor etc as my wife doesn’t earn enough, I was wondering if she can use a family member who she lives with as a joint sponsor? we also noticed that she will require the last 3 years in tax returns however she’s only been working for a little over a year now, will this matter? if anyone can give me a quick run down on what’s needed that will be awesome, the family member she can use makes enough but we aren’t sure if because she’s living with that person they can be used as a sponsor. our i130 isn’t approved yet but I guess we are just getting ourselves prepped for the next part so we can file everything as quick as possible :) thank you everyone, this app is great for support #i130

Yes she can use her family member. as for the tax return she don’t need the 3 years. the question asked if you filed for the most recent years you gonna select yes. then down below is says (optional) I have attached copies for the most 3 recent years, do not tick that box. then in 24a she need to put the recent year she filed

if you tick the box for 23b that’s when you have to send 3 years tax return so do not tick it because it’s optional to send the 3 years
