Hi. My case was transferred on 8 Jan 2025 and on 1 April 2025 I received a notice that a my case is being transferred to a field office and to allow 45 days for the case to be transferred. I will receive instruction for my interview from this field office. It has been almost 75 days and still no update about the interview.

@Joe 2 where did you get the approval notice? i think you only get approval after your interview. could you please explain, when was the interview and did they retain your passports at the uscis office

@Karan singh if your beneficiary is outside US, usually what happens is first your status update to transferred to international office or DOS, the next day your status changes to Transferred and a new office has jurisdiction (at this step it takes 4-8 weeks) and they will send you they have approved your petition and transferred your case to NVC. Then NVC creates an account for you and transfer the case to Embassy, the embassy will reach out with interview schedule.

@Joe 2 what happened to us was after the case was transferred to uscis office in my country, we got an interview email after 161 days. they retained our passport and told us that you will get your passport in few weeks. they never said if its approved or not.

@Joe 2 i730 nowadays goes straight to yout home country. nvc doesnt have any control over that now.

@Karan singh it only skip NVC if USCIS have a field office in your country. Then USCIS field office conducts the interview and makes decision on your petition. Yes, they will keep your passport after the interview. How long it has been after the interview?
