an interview so quickly ? it could be good, help the case move forward faster

it has nothing to do with the case moving fast. Last year they started randomly selecting Vawa applicants for interview due to fraud which led to certain lawyer prosecuted and jailed. The purpose is to know if you are aware of the Vawa filing and a probe on the abuse itself. However, the normal process is that your Vawa gets approved first before you are scheduled for I-485 interview but on the flip side, since you are called in for an interview now, you will likely not have another interview when your Vawa finally gets adjudicated and approved down the road. Vawa takes anywhere from 2 to 3.5 years to get approval.

i think they are doing with i-360/i-485 interviews like they do with i-130/i-485. They consist both interviews at the same time, if they approve one they approve both and if they deny one they deny both. Just review your i-360 form and personal statement (they might get into details about the vawa since it’s not approved yet) and your i-485 too. For approved i-360’s they just ask for a high level overview of the abuse (when you met, when you started living together/got married, when the abuse started, and current situation if still married or divorced). Best of luck! Nevermind just read through your case you’re a widower so this should be straight forward make sure to bring the death certificate with you original and copy (if you never submitted a copy with your application)

that’s a good sign. don’t let others tell you how long Vawa takes. yes, it takes years for most of us but there are cases that get approved in months. you can have your lawyer with you at the interview. and since it’s only AOS, the officer can’t ask you about circumstances you filing for Vawa. unless they scheduled you for both Vawa and AOS. why did you filed with NBC and not Nebraska ?

@bridges 5 Thank you for your input, I filled vawa cause my Husband passed away. so right now, I’m tired, I started my Journey since 2020 and he passed last year, my I130 was denied and had to start all over…. my head is full and I’m just living by.

@j da Silva I really don’t know if it’s good or not, The person that has the same type of case isn’t responding on here and the one on Reddit isn’t responding either, so I was thinking maybe they got detained.

@killian Bay they would like to establish if the marriage was bona fide so things like rental or mortgage, health insurance, bills in both names - cell, electricity etc, cause of death (bring death cert both original and copy), when and where y’all met, pictures with family and friends, vacation pics y’all took together, wedding etc they are just trying to see if it was a legitimate marriage (basically your life together) once you prove that they should approve your case.if you have an approved i-130 that would also go a long way

@killian Bay so sorry to hear that and hope your case speeds up fast. Since it’s in regards to you being a widow you will have questions from both Vawa and AOS filings. Basically good faith marriage but it will turn out well for you. Best of luck.

@killian Bay did you file Vawa or i-360 for widow(er) there’s a big difference Vawa is specifically for violence against a spouse but if it’s just death i believe you file form i-360 but it’s not clustered under vawa. When you put vawa it’s kind of confusing you filed i-360 but not vawa

@killian Bay Your VAWA Is a fast track one. it’s not the regular abusive VAWA.Its a good sign. its lost spouse. Go through your VAWA statement and I-485. I have all the details of your late spouse including medical & bills

I’m sorry for your loss. did you file for vawa before your spouse passed? you use the same for I360 but instead of applicant of VAWA, you use it as a widower. this is not related to Vawa. I360 holds many types of applications.

you can apply as a widower, which is way way faster than VaWA
