what were your timelines and service center?
Bug AgingFeb 11, 2022
It should be six months. 13 months is okay to leave.
Uros JovanovicFeb 11, 2022
you can leave anytime. 6 months is just bull in my opinion.

what happens if you leave your employer before 6 months? will this cause any future problems?
Bug AgingFeb 11, 2022
@Be U our company immig lawyer said that it might cause a problem when you apply for citizenship if you don’t follow the six months rule.

thanks for the information!

when you get a green card you are free to change the employer whenever you want. A friend received a green card after 5 years of waiting and left the company 3 months after he received the GC. Nobody said anything. You can change it whenever based on some attorneys but stay in your field and make sure it’s a better offer, that way if anyone raises anything (highly unlikely) you can say that you went for a better offer. green card is not slavery.

Most lawyers on YouTube say that the 6 month rule is BS! You can leave anytime and citizenship process will never ask you if you stayed with the employer or not.

@nd g: congrats. when did you receive your GC-based EAD/AP?
Cal BFeb 11, 2022
and did you expedite in anyway? if so, when and how?
nd gFeb 11, 2022
so the 6 months rule will be like the overall time you spend there or 6 months after greencard approval. but I ain’t staying for that long lol
nd gFeb 11, 2022
I just got my greencard in the mail today

2 friends of mine leave before the first month after gc approved. not sure if it’s legal but they had to pay the gc process when they left. not that they want to leave but during pandemic they been realocate and not happy with the current position and part time discount salary.
Uros JovanovicFeb 13, 2022
did they sign some kind of a contract before they underwent the gc process?

Can I Change Employers While My Green Card Application Is Pending?
june filler concurrently nebraskaFeb 14, 2022
they did contract which i believe is normal for some companies but talking to few lawyers they said it’s not legal.
nd gFeb 14, 2022
me, I didn’t sign any contract with my employer and have already worked with them for 13 months. that’s over 2000 hours. so I can prove that the job was legit through my paystub.
Bug AgingFeb 14, 2022
@tram nguyen you should read AC 21 rule if your GC application is employment based.

nd g, there is a video on YouTube “when can I quit my job after I get my green card” by attorney’s Reddy and Newman. Watch that….it will help!
Jovano MataFeb 28, 2022
guys...do think this "6 months or 12 months" count after GC? or after Ead? i am waiting for my interview and i already worked 7 months on my company...
