I485 courtesy notice - approval
hi! I just checked the documents under my I-485 application and saw a courtesy notice that it was approved. does this mean that the case is closed or does the fact that my I-130 is still being actively reviewed mean that the process is still not over? thank you for all your help ☺️

@M M hi! I’ve checked both this app and the portal regularly and saw that my I-130 status had changed to being actively reviewed. Although this was the first time for me, posts mentioned that it could mean that the approval was near and that’s what made me check the documents

@John RICHARDS thank you!! I’ve been on a series of F-1 visas for close to ten years and got married at the beginning of this year to my partner of 5 years. We waited for 90 days until my last entry in the US on my nonimmigrant starts and filed concurrently in February for aos, ap, and EAD. We worked with a lawyer and included a lot of bona fide evidence in the initial packet along with medical, scans of my current EAD (tied to OPT) and more. Based on my experience I think putting together the most comprehensive package initially is truly the way to go. I did biometrics in March and they waived the interview and did not send us an RFE. My EAD is expiring soon and was I truly needed a fast turnaround on that and I’m so grateful that my prayers were answered tenfold. I’m wishing you all luck because I know how hard this procsss can be, if you’re able try to make sure you’re being as thorough as possible before sending anything in because it could really lead to an expedited process
