i485/ country of birth
Hello,
I’m wondering why some people with PD after others and got approval faster. Does the country of birth have any effect in processing time ?? I mean a retrogression is coming, so who’s the Uscis is gonna process first ?

I think they also based on the speed of the team, each department and every ucsic officer have different pace of processing all the cases, it’s all pure luck just like check out counter speed are different in shopping center unfortunately =(

The country of birth has a bearing on the processing. It does not mean if you are current but your country of birth has already exhausted the 7% cap you will be approved. You need to wait for the next fiscal year or hope that there would be spill overs from other visa category ex.family based

I don’t think so. what can be happening is they have no clue on how to deal with retrofressed cases. they need to be strict with first-in-first-out but they simply are not organized enough and they lose tracks of cases that have retrogressed but recently become current.

@Hope fully I don’t think so, but I think that your status before applying for AOS matters for example: Student, Asylum Applicants, Tourism, etcetera.
