@Ivan R @María Hernández Thank you! She basically asked all the yes/no questions of part 9 of form i485 (Have you ever been denied admission, visa, etc.) the wanted to see all my EAD cards (from my OPT and i765) to check I was always in status. She checked my student visa (when I entered the US) and of course wanted to see the updated medical. She also asked about my current job and if my jobs during OPT were relevant to my degree. That was it.

@Lulla Ycr I did reach out to congressman as soon as I got current in July but they took a month to respond to them and responded after they had acheduled my interview (said she should attend the interview lol). I don’t think it was relevant though because others with similar PD were also getting interviews scheduled but definitrly it’s worth reaching out to them.

@Keanna K congratulations! my interview was scheduled today 🙏🏽 do you recommend to bring a new medical package to the interview? I sent mine in feb 2022 but it’s already expired

@A F Thank you! YES, bring the sealed medical package with you to the interview. your interview notice also mentions it.

Did you maintain status throughout the whole process? as far as I know you have to maintain status up until you file i485 and after that you are in authorized stay?

@sareh s Yeah I did, I had my step opt ead card and before that expired I got my i765 EAD from when I filed it concurrently with my i485. I think you are right though that’s what I remember too. my PD was June 13 2022 and my i130 was approved end of Dec 2023.

@Keanna K so you technically fell out of your opt status? EAD doesn’t really grant a status. but what I am trying to figure out is that when you went to interview your only status was your EAD or you has other status valid still like opt,student,etc,.. thank you for your time

@sareh s Oh I see what you mean. Yes, when I went to the interview, I only had my valid i765 EAD card and I wasn’t on F1 or anything.

@Keanna K thank you. did the officer question about overstaying or anything? or telling you that you have to change the answer on the form to yes because your status ended already? I have read that at some places so I just would like to know your experience thank you
