I didn’t contact anyone, I just received notice for RFE in June 2020 and responded Aug 2020. Got my C31 EAD in Jan 2021 and my approval letter June 2021

I applied in 2019. I got 3 Prima Facie between then & April 2021. Even though I applied for an EAD, I never got one. I Got a RFE in June & sent it back in September. A month later I got a notification that a new card is being processed. I don’t know if I’ll get an approval letter as my atty doesn’t communicate with me.

@sunny Malik Malik ~ The ONLY information I get is on this app. I don’t get ANYTHING physically coming to me. My atty gets ALL of my correspondence. Now I’m beginning to think I made a mistake by letting her get all my immigration mail.

That’s why I watch the notifications on this app like a hawk. My atty won’t tell me when she gets it. idk what’s up with her. She had a RFE since April of this year. I didn’t know ANYTHING about it until someone told me about this Lawfully app. I set up an account & was shocked to see that they had sent me a RFE. I found out about it in June! That’s so messed up not to tell me about it. Anyway, it’s all sorted out now thank God. Yes, I think that’s the card being processed now. When I was w/my ex, I got a C09 in 2018.

Oh yeah, I started working on the RFE as soon as I found out what it was they wanted. All of that could have been avoided. When my atty filed for Vawa, the only thing she sent was th application, my I’d documentation, my ex’s naturalization cert, my attendance at Women in distress & my declaration. No wonder why they asked for more documentation. Once they got everything they needed to prove my case, they sent the new card is being processed notification 2 wks later.

E D ~ idk who that question is for, but initially when I filed my papers in 2018 of January, I got my biometrics done in February of the same year & then I got an EAD in September of 2018. The pandemic did a lot of damage, things have slowly picked up, but USCIS was already behind. I really think it depends on your case & your field office. I’m seeing ppl who filed in January & are getting through now with interviews. It’s wild.

thanks for the response! I have a WAVA application in Vermont. and I think WAVA applications should be evaluated sooner because of the disadvantages of the situation. as you said pandemic makes everything slower and painful unfortunately:(

E D ~ Did you ever receive an EAD? I filed TWICE for one & never got one. There has to be some consideration for immigrants who are trying to make it in life in this country while we adjust our status, We can’t get benefits as we don’t qualify. How are we suppose to survive? There’s only a certain amount of things I can sell before I run out of things.

I have never had an EAD and I’m in the same situation. for how long i can sell my clothes on poshmark.. it’s harder than wildlife to survive in the us

E D ~ LOL!…..Don’t make me laugh, but what you say is true. I’m gathering things from my wardrobe now to sell along w/a few plants & some shoes. Times are tough! I need health insurance too, as later on I will need to have an operation. I tried to get some on the health market but they want more immigration documentation proving that I’m legal in the country. I gave them my A# & ticked the box that I’m a Vawa recipient ~ not enough!

Oh, I was applying for NJ Family Care just now. I’m sending my receipt notice as immigration documentation. because wava applicants are eligible for health care services

I don’t have an approval to send to the marketplace. It’ll probably be awhile before I have proof to send. If you get through w/securing a policy, would you mind coming back & sharing your experience? it would help ppl like myself out a great deal. Thanks in advance!

Which application are you referring too? As far as I know, USCIS has everything they need for my case.

after you send your application for adjustment of status, uscis sends you a notice that they have received your application, that’s what I’m referring to

Remember, I filed that back in 2018 right after I got married. I was told by my atty there was no need to file another one as that old one is connected to this Vawa case now. The only things I’m waiting on is an EAD, an interview & my GC.

Referring to the last conversation about EAD. I applied for everything in February 2021. I have not received EAD and it’s also tough since I’m by myself in the US not being able to work. But I did receive Prima Facie determination (dated May but idk why they sent it to me in September), and it says I’m eligible for public benefits. I applied and got approved. So that helped me quite a bit. Maybe this helps to someone as well.
