I agree with Kazeem! Your application was probably forwarded to the AAO office because USCIS didn’t approve it. Don’t waste time and just file again. This time with course correction, meaning improving what USCIS found wrong with the application. Take the help of a good attorney.

Your I-290b is a motion to reopen or motion to reconsider? Also is for what type of denied case. Like I485 or I-130?

Don’t waste time. Just do the course correction and re-file while the 290b is being worked on. You’ll save a hell lot of a time. My lawyer gave me that advise and I thank him today. After a year they denied my 290b while I saved time with the new filing that he made the correction on.

Correct! let the 290b take its course and quickly file a new one, but make sure to take care of the issues this time. I’ve seen many people in your situation and with a help of a good attorney they made the right changes and got it done. Just make sure that if you used an attorney….DO NOT USE HIM/HER AGAIN! If they didn’t do things right the first time then you better believe they’ll mess up again.

I refilled in July 2021, bio accepted in a week from the old filing, but unfortunately my date retrogressed in November 2021. Second filing was actually moving at a rapid pace only if the retrogression didn’t happen. Within three months I had my EAD/AP card, but Nov retrogression slowed it down. Hoping in few months my date will become current again. BTW ….still no answer on 290b :)!!!

Also, July 27th 2021 filed 290b and July 30th 2021 refiled the whole package again with missing papers.

yh, I filed 290b at the same with vawa and I got prima facia 3times already but still worried not knowing what next

Hey @Star gazer, if I understand, you meant that it is possible to refill the whole package while I290B is pending ? I got my I360C denied since January 2021. Then applied the I290B. In this case can I refill another I360C ?

I don’t know what are the rules with 360C. My 485 (application for green card) was denied and I re-filed while 290 was pending. I’m at the interview stage with the 2nd application while 290b decision is still in the pipeline.

Whichever comes first ……I’ll take it :)!!!

I filed a 290B because i missed my appointment because i was over seas came back and got a letter in the mail said i was denied due to not going to the appoinement for removal of conditience i called my lawyer and she filed i 290b Feb 2021 and i still have not heard anything yet i am not sure what to do next she has contacted them they said i have to wait but all my documents are expired and no one will hire me because documents are expired.

I have done alot of research but i am still not exacly sure what to do i had this laywer for 8 years my green card expired in 2014 and still she never renewed it even though i been paying her alot fo money its like she keeps doing things wrong so i keep paying her its just i dont know what to do anymore

you keep paying her without doing your job? please look for a better one, go on tiktok, read reviews about lawyers ask questions from them if they have ever deal with a similar case as yours.

shes an immigration lawyer but i missed my interview and she did the 290b now she says i can file the i751 and i just keep paying her money but no appointment yet and its just i been waiting like this fir such a long time

for the forms 290B application plus her fee i paid total $1350 last year to file the i290B

but I heard people say once you file 290b and it's taking long, better refile

right but the thing is that i have not heard anything from uscis for a case decision

your lawyer can file g-28 to make enquiry about your case

but that means i have to wait again all over because its been a year and 3 months since i filed and nothing yet so if i refile maybe i would have to wait longer and right now all my documents are expired

she said she did a service request and they said i have to wait thats all but i told her i am not able to work because no one will hire me with expired documents

So keep your hope and faith up, and never stop praying and believing. we are all on line waiting

guys I have they same 1 290b case file motion to reopen since August 2021 they mail me letter say they receive my appeal & incase they need biometric they will mail me also I send Renew of my EAD June 2021 & march 3 2022 I get update they close my form because beneficiary receive status true other means I don’t know what it mean Im worried so it’s being 8 months & 2 week now I receive a next letter concern my 1290b that’s they receive my appeal and transfer my case to they chief officer at federal plaza ny & incase I need to make inquiry I should mail them
