i131 approvals
Has anyone had an i131 approved this year that was processed at the National Benefits Center? The average processing there for i131 is 11 months, but I’m curious to know others experience? I read a lot of conflicting info online. I need to travel urgently and wonder if it’s worth trying to expedite or speak to local govt to assist..

12 months for me now and still waiting. NBC recently changed the processing time for i131 now is 10 months, you can try to submit a request, you will need to wait on response within 30 business days
Jackie GreenOct 4, 2023
@Lau L thank you! did you submit a request and have any luck with it?

@Jackie Green Yes I submitted an inquiry for my i131 and my i765 regarding cases are outside normal processing time, but they still haven’t responded back, they said me to wait 30 business days, so more than 40 days

286 days, I tried to expedite it, they said 30 days but it has been 3 months and no answer yet

@Ivan R similar situation! So yours submitted around 5 weeks after mine, you could inquire about the i131 on the USCIS site at the end of Nov as it will be out of NBC processing times then. Hopefully we get approved before then though!

my case says taking longer than expected and it’s been about 4.5 months. I am not holding my breath. I’m sure I’ll get my green card before they look at it. I have looked at all the cases around my submission time and only a handful of cases have 131 approved.

@Taina Ajeti that’s frustrating and defeats the purpose of expediting! if it’s outside of processing times you could inquire on the uscis website? you can also contact the congressman for your city and they can help push it through if it’s just stuck

@jhoe b yes, after 7 days they sent me an email, I sent everything next day, then every 30 days I would check with an agent if they had any news, they would open a service request and ask me to wait 30 more days 🥲 It is frustrating

@Jackie Green I really think so, mine has been 10 months, next month I will try to open an inquiry, if takes more than a year for an answer I am really going to try to talk to a congressman. It is super frustrating because every time I talk to them they ask me to wait 30 more days, time is passing and zero return
