So I haven’t heard from USCIS since 2019 my wife filed the application but last year November it changed to currently reviewed by USCIS until now. I chatted with live agent through Emma and the person said that it’s still normal processing that if I didn’t heard anything before Jan 2026 then I should email them. please is there anyone here that has similar situation and how did you go about that. I have ask my lawyer and she said that it still normal processing time. it’s been more than 5years no approved yet

@Arinze A is the spouse a us citizen or green card holder? this doesn’t make sense.

@Arinze A, I think you should try to reach out to your senator. that's been a very long wait.

@Arinze A dod you allied as spouse of permanent resident or a spouse of US citizen? if your spouse got US citizenship after filing for your I-130 then you first need to change the case type by calling USCIS and uploading the proof of citizenship of your wife (naturalization certificate or US passport). Then your case type will change to IR-1 and your case is way beyond normal processing time then. at that time you can file to expedite your case. Hope it helps

@Munawar Saeed my wife is US citizen because she was born here and raise here. we submitted everything to my lawyer including her birth certificate. I don’t know what else to do seriously

First ask your wife to go to congress representative office if you can go with her that will be plus. Explain them then you have to wait 30 days if nothing happens then go for mandamus. Because before filling a law suite you have to exhaust all possible options to avoid any loopholes in system to give an excuse to USCIS.
