I went on Emma and asked for “ Agent name was Chelsea”
I went on USCIS web, and asked Emma to connect me to a live chat. I was chatting with an agent, and I asked her about my case. she gave me same old answer what I already know from the website. Then I told her, what’s the point of me asking an live agent about my case update, when live agent and automated message is saying the same thing. And she discontinued chatting by saying “if you want to be rude, I have to disconnect”. im like how in the world am i being rude? I just asked a genuine question, like what’s the point of having an live agent when they are not able to update you about your case other than what’s on website 🙄

your question was valid, but it’s the delivery. I usually tend to ask I would love to get an update on my case and see if there is any potential interview, RFE or approval in the horizon. basically you have to sound friendly, and ask the same question the right way. you can also add has my case been transfer to field office? and just go from there but let your questions be open for more and not open-ended if you know what I mean. unfortunately these people are in control and we are not

The true is...sometimes your case doesn't has any updates and that's all agent knows.

I don’t know what purpose live agent serve they keeping our case information from us I don’t get it. The process is long and traumatizing but yet still we are left in the dark without no case update and when we try to get information live agent disrespect us.

Emma only has first level agents who can only tell you where your case is and outstanding docs.Its not their jobs to go in cases for details and thus don't have access.

@Karen Godfrey I’m was being completely normal about how I was talking to her. thanks for your suggestion though! also, if they are just giving info about website , what’s the point being a live agent was my thought! which pretty much everyone here seeks answers for. but thanks “ Karen”

@Neickers Cuevas you could be right! but there was nothing I said was trying to be rude. I was just so confused on why are they even live agent, if they don’t have any information regarding your case. it’s just so frustrating, and most of the time when I give them my case number and my information they copy paste the website and disconnects, like don’t even give you chance to ask questions. And that’s completely being ok about it.

@r s I feel your frustration, I am actually on my second green card because according to USCIS the one I currently have and let me keep was given to me by mistake. and so I can become a US Citizen so I had to start a whole new process with my wife to get a new green card. trust me I know how it feels these people are just bananas to say the least and while other people get citizenship who bluntly hate the USA, people like me are just having to pay I price we don’t des

@Karen Godfrey sorry if you felt that way, but you weren’t too nice about dailogue delivery too, just lke me as someone adressed that in comment @Neickers Cuevas he pointed out my mistake without being rude and framing me. but how nice of you to just judge me being rude when I said I was not! you just jump to the conclusion, and Labled it I didn’t treated them like a “ human”, when it could be other way around too. have a good night to yourself! if I was so rude I wouldn’t come and ask here when we all are at the same boat and feel frustrated and they don’t care to treat us like a human,too. 🙏
