i have asylum interview in dec after 13 years. when do uscis inform us about their decision? and if i m approved am i allowed to travel?

@ss k it’s all depends how lucky you are with your officer. Got my approval letter in one month but the wait time can be from 2 weeks to 5 years. If you get approved soon then you should apply for I 131 ( refugee travel document) in order to travel.
at this point just focus on your interview because your future depends on it. Don’t think you are ready 100% just keep preparing yourself for though questions. Good luck!

First, win your asylum in the interview. Then, apply for your I-485, I-131, and I-765, all of this together. And wait to see if they approve your travel permit.

they usually respond in about 4 weeks, and in some cases they respond after years hopefully that won’t be the case with you but for now focus on your interview and good luck, I hope you’ll do well.

Indeed it depends on the workload the asylum officer has. Like for my case I had my interview on 11/14/2024 and I got my approval letter on the 11/24/2024

I missed my interview 😢 but ask for it ti be rescheduled the next day. I was sent an email saying I would get a response by the 22 November 2024, but I am still yet to hear anything can anyone help me to check on my status?🙏😓
