@AUG22 GodHaveMercy because she is crazy. she said they stopped going with clients since Covid and someone from her office will go only if someone had a complicated case (criminal background, arrest, or removal proceedings) ughhh 😭

Unfortunately, they started requesting for sponsorship which is I-864. I don’t think VAWA applicant is excepted anymore. I was asked to submit I-864 last week. I sent it in and waiting for approval. Good luck 🍀

I had my interview last week and they didn't ask me this letter. I gave my tax return documents to the officer though

sponsorship is exempt from i360 self petitions. there is no new rule to be found supporting the opposite! luckily they will fix the error

when they asked for my medicals, my attorney added the I-864 to the envelope. At first, i never wanted him to but he insisted. My I-485 got approved yesterday. If the officer is requesting for it, give it to them.

@sins sanchez No, She asked me where I'm working and I told her. but when the officer asked us if we shave any documents for her to show, My attorney gave her my last 4 years tax return. I'm making a lot of money and my attorney wanted her to see my tax return as a proof for a good moral character.

@Minnale Sakkare hmm name, dob, parents name, where do they live, all my addresses, mailing addresses, ex’s name Dob. date of marriage. how many times did I get married, how many times did I leave the country, last entry in US, exit and entry on my passport with dates, have I worked without work authorization and I said “yes” to be honest. And finally all the yes and no questions from my I-485 and my I-864W which I didn’t have! she also updated whatever changes needed to be made, she was very straight forward and calm. that’s about it. I was for like 45-50minutes.

@Idan !!! how would you provide a I-864 under vawa? who’s going to sponsor the self petinoier? and I barely got my ead in first week of October 2024 like 6 months back to even have a strong financial background. I’m just a little confused here

@Mehhhh . I would suggest that whatever RFE on the I-864 you receive from them forward it to your lawyer to handle it. Sometimes these officials are use to tending to certain cases that they think all cases across board are the same requirement regardless so it is always better for your legal representation to highlight it to them on black and white. I know how bothered you may be but I would say be positive because after such interviews they differ cases to their supervisors who then go through it before final decisions are made.

@Idan !!! question did they request I 693 medicals first? before they requested form i-864 and how soon after did you submit medicals did they request form I 864. please..

@Chi N congratulations 🎊 question please, what do the lawyer fill out for form I 864. what information you have to give him.. or its a form that the lawyer just fills out??

@blessed nikay Case got transferred to Missouri and they requested for medical and birth certificate and then I received another rfe request about a month later and when I got the letter, it was from my local USCIS, they are the one who requested for i864

@bridges 5 yess, the mail is going to my attorney. she is the one who’s going to take care and reply to it. because after the interview when I called her, she said we have already submitted the I-864W with all the other forms.

@blessed nikay honestly I don't know what he filled out. I brought my medical reports and he packaged it together with my medicals and an orange letter from USCIS in a usps envelope and asked me to take it to the post office.

@Mehhhh . i-864 and i-864W are two different form. VAWA applicant is required to provide only i-864W. People either bring it to an interview, or send it along with their medical (i-693) when they respond to an RFE medical exam.

@Mehhhh . i864W is required for only i485 application from an approved vawa applicant. (VAWA i360 petition does not need i864W. Only i485 AOS needs it).

@H n yes I did read about it, it’s just that my attorney told me we have already submitted the I-864W with the original application. I don’t know what the confusion was 😭 only if she did come with me to the interview all this would be sorted right then. but like I said earlier just gotta wait now but thank you for the information

@Mehhhh . Probably, officer is lazy or busy to look for any prior i864W already submitted. So he/she simply asks for a new form instead, I guess.
