I 765 work authorization
hello everyone, I m a granted asylee and my ead card expired and I applied for renewal7 months ago and still waiting , I took receipt notice which extends work authorization another 180 days..But also this period is about to expire..so what will I do if grace period end before my new card come to my hand? any idea or experience?

leo a - congratulations. about the EAD, when the current one expires you wait for the new one because you're on A5 category now, and no longer C8.

you don’t need an EAD anymore. just change your SSN. reapply by providing your asylee graned papers and they should issue a SSN without restriction on it.

a friend of mine had the same situation. He contacted his lawyer and he told him he doesn’t need EAD anymore, all he needs is a new SSN card to prove his employment’s status. you should give them a call

that is true, l z. but if leo a just got the change from C8 to A5 and the new EAD is en route to reflect that change, then that A5 EAD is needed as part of the documents to provide to make any changes moving forward. USCIS wouldn't send leo a that EAD if they didn't think it wasn't needed. 🙂

thx for all comments..I checked my work authorization on everify.uscis.gov and I noticed that asylees have unlimited work authorization and if u want to work somewhere, employees can see ..if not you can take a screenshot and u can prove work authorization…ead cars is different..they all expire in 2 years even if u r asylee..I applied for asylum in 2019 july and granted in 3 months but after covid timeline changed to longer period

some employer and dmv do not understand this situation. try to convince ur employer or wait until u get ur new EAD. i am in the same situation..nothing else to do… u and your lawyer are only people who know that u have unlimited work permit not other people lol
