I-765 Marriage based IOE Case Approved
Hello Everyone,
Just like most applicants like here in the Lawfully family, I was really worried about my work permit in particular because my company fired me last December 2021. Even after requesting them multiple times to consider putting me on leave, they still put me off charts. I was feeling bitter about the entire system and everything else that was going on. My wife is still a full time student so she only worked part time so I was just flooded by bills.
Now, I applied through my lawyer so he put in a special request for expedite. Plus I also reached out to USCIS and they created an expedite request for me a couple of weeks earlier and then no update or any acknowledgment whatsoever.
My recommendation is try to expedite if your ead has expired and try following up. if you bug USCIS, sometimes it works. Atleast you will feel better about your action. Just a heads up, I applied concurrently so all other forms including I-131 are currently in process as I am writing this.
Thanks so much Lawfully community!!! Open to any Question!!

@ G M Congratulations 🎉 I filled for I 140, I 765 and I 485 in July 2021 under EB1C category. Texas Service Center. When do you think I will get my EAD?
G MMar 1, 2022
@Aijaz Shaik I am assuming you are able to work now. correct me if I am wrong.. reach out to USCIS is you are not able to work and facing financial hardship. you should definitely reach out saying that it's been 8 months now since your case is pending and see their response. the worst case they will say NO.

@G M - how do you request USCIS to expedite your case and when do you request that? appreciate your response!
G MMar 3, 2022
@Sadab Ahmed Go to USCIS page. Choose the Talk to Emma option. then while chatting type infopass. then it might ask you for your reason, just type expedite for whatever you reason is, ultimately it will give you an option to chat with live agent. You can let the agent know your situation and file for expedite.

@G M - thanks a lot for the info. it has just been 15 days since i filed. I saw somewhere else where people were suggesting to expedite only after 90 days or something like that. Did you wait for 90 days or it doesn’t matter?
G MMar 3, 2022
@Sadab Ahmed Yeah I waited for more than 4 months before i even decided to expedite. . my pd is Oct 4th 2021. I would advise you to wait. Right now, USCIS is processing the I-765 cases as fast as possible. I cannot provide an assurance but you can expect your work permit in at most 3-4 months since you applied recently.
Sadab AhmedMar 5, 2022
@G M - thanks again! I really hope that i do get my work permit within 3-4 months otherwise my current job would be at risk. I think there’s nothing else could be done at this moment than to wait and hope for the best.
