I received it a long time ago they mentioned the expired date is in front of the card but I never get the card.

no.its only a notice a 797. in case you have already a EAD this notice can be used like a extension.if you don't have any EAD .means wait

don't despair, Fabiola. while you wait for your new EAD, the current one is automatically extended for 180 days from the expiration date on your current card.

M R - I'm not sure, but if I get this right, your mariage-based application will supersede the asylum at some point. but the two are independent, and you will have to cancel one when the other one is approved. is this your initial application under mariage-based category? if so, then my guess here is that the mariage-based GC is going to be granted before asylum. so, based on that reasoning you should go by the marriage-based EAD when you receive it or when your c8 EAD runs out if you haven't received the marriage-based EAD by then.
the 797 form for each EAD should tell you what it does for each case. look at the category on each.
if the 797 is for the C8 EAD renewal, then that's the one that's extended for 180 days from the expiration date or until you get the new c8 EAD.
if the 797 is for the marriage-based EAD, and this is an initial mariage-based petition, then you need to turn to what it says. it probably doesn't grant you a work authorization under that category (if it's an initial petition). so, until you receive the EAD under the marriage-based category, if you want to work then you would use the C8 category until it runs out (extension included), or you receive the mariage-based EAD, or even better, the GC, whichever comes first. 🙂
whatever you do, don't withdraw the pending asylum until you have received your marriage-based GC. 🙂

I got the exact same letter from NBC..and it doesn't grant you work authorization..its just a notice.but if you have any other case through which you got ead then it gives you extention..
