I-751 Interview/Location Issue
When I moved from NYC to Raleigh, NC in September I notified USCIS about my address change. Today, I received the notice at my new address in Raleigh saying that I have interview scheduled in NYC...Is this normal? I thought that my case would be moved to the closest field office in NC... It will be very hard for our family to make a trip to NYC at this time. I was wondering if there are any chances we can move it to NC.

Travel will be difficult at the moment. We would have to take our 2 year old with us. Are kids allowed in the interviews?

yes if she is your kids don’t leave her/him behind , 2 hours flight is not much . if u miss that appointment it can lead to denied or delay

just take your child but you dont have no one in the city to watch them while you go to the interview?

because i think there they should be able to mail your gc if you tell them the new address change ,sometimes uscis can be so difficult when it comes to the address change

no, we have no one in NYC that could watch him. We would have to either take him with us to the interview or find a nanny for few hours..

Sandra there is rarely an interview for removal of conditions. If there is sufficient evidence in the the intial paperwork you sent, they would have just mailed you a green card. If they needed something else, you would have got rfe but instead there is an interview SO they are looking for more. I’m assuming the child is from the marriage and it’s very very important you take the child with you. The immigration agent needs a full picture of your family and having a child is literally the best way to proof you guys are a real couple. I urge you to the take the toddler with you and it’s perfectly ok to do so.

Also I have heard people saying on this app when you move during a processing of 751 they call am interview. I guess it’s just to make sure you didn’t split up or anything. I forgot to ask, what was ur intial service center plz

Hi Sandra. I am currently living in Raleigh and I have a friendly advice for you. Don’t hesitate to go to NYC and complete your interview. Unfortunately, it has been a long time (almost a year!!!) that Raleigh’s local office hasn’t scheduled any interview!!! I know many people waiting in the line to get interviewed.

@Ahmad h dint you read her whole post? she use to live in ny before she moved to nc her fo in ny sent her the invitation for the interview reading is fundamental
