if your petition is approved you are getting all the benefits for the refugee/asyle status that includes that you don't need to have a work authorization document to be employed in United States.

yes but the ssn office wants an ead to prove my status they do not want to take the i-94 tear off

You'd need to file for an EAD card. It is free.

alot of people said that if uscis approved the case wich is my case they will send ead card automaticly but if you are approved by court you need to apply for an ead card im jus trying to see what to do from people that went thru this same type of cases

I'd recommend filing an application for an EAD card.

not for the work permit but went to ssn office to apply, they said your will recieve all the documents from immigration and homeland securties

@victor ortal All you need is approved asylum status letter and i-94 with asylum granted stamp. if ssn refuses call for supervisor.

what state are you in Victor? I worked as a paralegal and just got my unrestricted social and they didn't ask for my EAD

@Immigration Guy i live in kansas city state of missouri they do not want to give me an ssn card i been like this since september 2023

take a little trip to Chicago or something and go to an SSA office, don't say anything just give them your proof of your status. also take a copy of the SSA page as a proof of what is required

i just got it @victor _kc , like you said at the bottom but yeah it is not stamped or anything. how did you end up resolving this and get SSN? normally you don't need EAD to work as asylee but in the letter it says obtain EAD, pretty weird

no it is not stamped and i did apply for an initial no cost ead in order to received my social security card thats what the approval letter say i need it to do other wise ssn office will not provide me a ssn also i received an unrestricted ssn

so you applied for EAD and requested social security card with that EAD application? @victor _kc so did you get your EAD and SSN after filing? how long did that take? so dumb that they didn't send a stamped i-94.

@Immigration Guy my husband got his i-94 stamped in his passport because he won the asylum. im i-730 beneficiary and got my i-94 by mail from uscis yes i-765 ead and just marked the i need a new ssn card box and it took me almost 4 months to get it yeah no they do not stamp i-94 - from i-730

thanks @victor _kc I guess that's the only way, we'll need to apply for EAD and wait it out until we get the SSN thru the EAD. it sucks though... shouldn't have to get an EAD
