I-730 filed for Out of US, got fingerprints & interview appt for the beneficiary within the US!
We filed an I-730 for my wife in January 2024, intending it to be processed abroad as she resides outside the U.S. While visiting on a B1/B2 visa, she received a biometrics notice(October), and I sought clarification from several attorneys I had worked with as paralegal. Attorneys advised the case would proceed abroad as petitioned, but they were incorrect, as USCIS has now scheduled an interview in January(2025), confirming domestic processing. Following advice from a Tier 2 officer, I mailed a letter to the Texas Service Center for clarification(in October) but have not received a response.
can anyone share when processed within the US how long did you guys wait from interview to the decision of i730?
did you join as petitioner as well? since in the notice it says the petitioner MAY join the interview?
Did they ask both of you anything about the asylum case or was it 100% about your marriage?
thank you for your responses!

@Immigration Guy so did they mention anything about the application beign in or out of state?
Elvine ElvineJan 31, 2025
and was the interview in or out of the US?
Immigration GuyJan 31, 2025
initially filed for outside the US but during a stay under tourist visa was called for bio and interview inside the US. I didn't understand your question a out application and them mentioning it? @Elvine Efuet
Elvine ElvineFeb 1, 2025
@Immigration Guy you got the question right. i am just very interested in your case because it is same as mine. we did an out of state application and when i was on a visit in the US they requested fingerprints which i did and since then i have been waiting. was just wondering if they mentioned anything about the mistake they made( treating the application like an inside US application)during the interview. i would also like to know what the next steps for you are?
