@m m Thanks! I am not sure what you mean by this if my application went to a field office, but when I originally submitted my application it was at NBC office, and from thhere it was transferred to Los Angeles office I guess.

@m m upplement J is used to confirm that the job offer associated with your I-140 petition is still valid and available.
It’s also required when changing jobs after filing your I-485 if the new job is in the same or a similar field. This is possible if your I-485 has been pending for more than 180 days.
If you didn’t initially submit Supplement J, USCIS might issue a Request for Evidence (RFE) to get it.
In my case, I did not submit Supplement J with my application because I did not know that prior to submitting the application, so I got a RFE.
After submitting a response to the RFE, USCIS will notify you that they’ve received your response and will resume processing your case. Once they finish receiving your case the response received from today is what an applicant should be receiving or if they need more information they might send you another REF or schedule you for interview. Thankfully they are satisfied with my response that I sent to them about my job because I am currently working for the company and the job description under the petition is still available for me, so they even even get to schedule me for an interview.
