I-485, I-130 approved @ Brooklyn field office.
Hi there, I just want to share my timeline and good news to encourage everyone in the waiting process. This can be stressful at times but knowing the average processing time at your field office will be helpful in knowing when you should become more hopeful for an interview or an approval . I did same especially knowing very well that the Brooklyn field office was very slow as at the time I filed and therefore did not expect any interview let alone approval soon.
If you happen to have a work authorization, go ahead and find work as that will also help you stay off thinking about you green card approval.
I’m down to answer questions! Yours is next!

hii!! congrats!!
did you have to bring all the evidence again to the interview? it costs over $200 to print everything and they want us to keep repringing it...
also, how long did the interview last?
Alpha ⏰Aug 7, 2023
T@nino g there is no need to reprint all evidence you earlier sent with the application. However, any new evidence would have to be printed and sent along. In my case, the interviewer asked me to keep all those he had previously from my application and only took new evidence.

@Alpha ⏰ thanks for the info. how long did the interview itself go? and did they take the phones away when you were in the waiting room?
Dana sAug 9, 2023
alpha did you get your card yet?
Alpha ⏰Aug 9, 2023
@nino g Phones will not be taken away from you but the interviewer will ask right in the beginning of the interview that you put it on mute. Our interview was scheduled @ 12:55. However, we were called in @2:46 and the immigration officer was very apologetic and explained that they were running way behind time.
He took all our documents and said he would review them later.
overall, he asked about how we met, my mother in law’s name, description of our apartment and the road intersection nearby.
He dwelled more on our interest (which we indicated as playing video games and reading books). He asked me about the kind of games and books my wife is into and vice versa.
I would say the officer felt connected to our interests as I realized he was very young and even suggested some books for us to read.
He was nice and lenient and made us feel like we were just having a conversation.
He promised to review our documents and take a decision as soon as possible.

@Alpha ⏰ hey, did you also get an interview notice in mail and it had list of all the things u need to bring? i just received it and it is a whole page of documents. basically everything i submitted initially
Alpha ⏰Aug 15, 2023
@nino g I did receive the notice in the mail. Regarding the list of items on the notice, Just leave out all those you have already submitted (unless the date on the evidence is matter) and go with those you haven’t submitted.
nino gAug 16, 2023
@Alpha ⏰ thank u!! We are kinda scared that we'll get confused by their questions or they will ask trick questions. did they ask you anything that you had hard time answering? did they talk to your wife more or to you?
