i-485 / i-130 waiting for 2 yrs (3 service requests without response)
Hi all, I applied for permanent residency through my wife who is a green card holder (F2A) on 5/11/2020 (priority date). The latest update from USCIS on biometrics being done was back in Aug 2020, so it’s been a while. My field office is Pittsburgh, PA and it says estimated processing time is 10.5 - 18 months so my case is definitely outside the normal time by far. I called, had 3 service requests, even wrote to local congressman, but no response from the USCIS. My wife and I are currently in the States, both from S. Korea and we are in just a waiting mode for too long. FYI, my advance parole was approved after almost 2 yrs since filling date on Apr 8, 2022 and my EAD has been approved / extended once. Any opinions on whether this is indeed normal? And any suggestion on what else I can do would be really appreciated! Thank you so much all! #i485 #i130 #f2a

what’s a “service request”?
J

it's a inquiry feature that you can self-submit on USICS website when you have a question on your case

I just submitted one today and what you said gives me no hope lol. I submitted it on the basis that I’m outside of normal processing time… was that your reason for the 3 times you tried? and when you said no response, did you mean they didn’t response at all (meaning they’re still pending) or they gave you the same response saying your case is till processing? sorry for the lengthy post lol.

no, she's a permanent resident (although she's just starting the citizenship process herself)

file service request through emma . make sure you tell them you didn’t receive any response. emma can file a request to tier 2 directly

Thanks Dak! - I'll try to do it through Emma. One question though: I heard that submitting a new request 'overrides' previous ones. Is that true and if so, is there any benefit to filing a new one when my most recent one was filed on 4/6/2022?
