I-140 approval timeline
Hi all,
my priority date is early November 2024 and applied through normal processing, it’s been 10 months since I filed my case, but no update yet…
any idea which block is being processed nowadays and when to expect result of my block? IOE09284
my profile:
PhD in STEM currently working as postdoc in US, proposed endeavor is clean energy..multiple publications..
do you guys think any chance of RFE? or i should opt for PP to expedite process? I know it’s useless to expedite because date is not close but still for peace of mind..
would appreciate your input guys.. thanks

I know December 2023 and January 2024 still waiting, although both got rfes. Good luck to you.

expect 16-18 months if it’s smooth (without rfes) if with rfe’s 18+ minimum. no one gotten any idea except that the government is reviewing millions of undocumented and documented immigrants, now NIW has becoming packed with more people trying to file their case.. NIW was once a better place to get deserving applicants now, USCIS have to battle decision making between millions of cases both STEM non STEM.

My PD is after mid November 2024. I upgraded to PP in July 2025 and it was approved after 25 days. If you have the PP money, I will say go for it and get in line!
