we just came back from the interview and the officer explained to us that they used to waive the interview for parents but if the case is digital (I guess when it starts with IOE) they’ll schedule the interview. I can’t say anything about the medical since we’ve sent it with the forms

thanks for replying! just curious, what kind of questions did they ask? And did the sponsor (US citizen) have to be present in the interview?

it was a nice officer. He asked about our dates( names, Birthday, social, address) dates of our citizen son and some yes/no answers from the form I485. The funny thing is, I thought our son shouldn’t come to the interview because it’s not stated on the invitation but the officer said he should have come🤷‍♀️. but that wasn’t a big issue since we had his Birth Certificate, social and passport. my husband and I had different interview dates but when I entered the building I asked if they could interview us together. They agreed and the officer told us later that the interview should have been scheduled together and that there is a glitch in the new system. So it was a good thing that we came together.

PD 8/6/21 NBC/El Paso, TX biometrics September RFE 10/4/21 (Birth Cert) RFE received 10/18/21 EAD hubby end of February EAD (mine) middle of March Interview scheduled (mine) 3/21/22 for May 4th Interview scheduled (hubby) 4/1/22 for May 12th we did the interview together today. officer said we were approved but status hasn’t changed yet
