# Case Approved March 4, 2022
Just got approved! I believe NVC is the next step but wondering what kind of paperwork is needed for the future steps so I can gather it all? Also, does anyone have an idea how long the rest of the process will be? Thanks everyone

Great !! Congratulations. I think that NVC will sent you the appproval letter and they will mentionne all paperworks for the next step

congratulations! nvc will inform you for the documents you need because for every country are specific forms of documents they want and you need the correct forms. how long depends on the nvc and the embassy. you need the correct documents in order to get documentarily qualified from nvc in one go which takes about 3 months from the submission and then depending on the embassy in your country , if it is in the eu the appointment will be in one month on average but in some asian countries or mexico for example has many months of waiting for the interview. where is the beneficiary from?

I could say that the best scenario ( correct documents in one go and living in europe) will take 5 to 6 months .

@Katerina what if the beneficiary is in United States what happens after approval of i-130 and its been sent to nvc what will be the next step
katerina rossiMar 5, 2022
@approved name do you mean starting the procedure from abroad and then adjust status in the us? if you started the procedure while in the usa then it is adjustmnt of status from the begining and need to complete it there. if you started abroad and then change it to adjustment which is possible if you have already an old turist visa or an esta and you then you have to prove in the interview that you didnt come in the us for the purpose to adjust because that is fraud. now if it happens you to be in the us while tour case is approved but you are willing to go to your country for the interview it is fine.

just incase anyone is wondering, initially my case was sent to the Texas Service Center but the approval letter is from the California Service Center. guess they transferred it there, not sure
katerina rossiMar 5, 2022
@random user you can see the visa reciprosity website which is official website given from the us where you can type your country vietnam and see all the required documents required but again you will be informed by nvc because every one of us is unique. I wish you the best!

@random user did you expedite your case perhaps and when did it first start to -actively review?

I’m happy for you for your approval but also frustrating because my I-130 in Texas has been waiting since April, longer than yours and still no word. very annoying!

I did my interview 3/3/22 and everything went absolutely well and that day was my birthday she said go enjoy your birthday, please I want to know how long it takes to update?
Random UserMar 6, 2022
@ezy no I did not expedite anything. however I did use a lawyer to help me gather the appropriate paperwork and submit the application

UPDATE: March 7, 2022 got an email that my case was sent to the department of state (NVC I think) so I paid the fees right away.

@random it depends on your embassy. If it’s in Central or Western Europe it probably will take around 1-3 months from DQ date, so minimum 4 months. Other embassies with significant backlogs (Mumbai, Lagos etc.) are taking anywhere from 3 months to a year for an interview date once DQ’d.
