what’s k3?

A K-3 visa is a nonimmigrant visa that allows the foreign-citizen spouse of a U.S. citizen to enter the United States while waiting for their immigrant visa petition to be approved. The K-3 visa is intended to shorten the time spouses spend apart while waiting for the immigration process to be finalized…… supposedly there’s a superstition that if you file a K3 visa after you file your petition that it will “supposedly” tricks the system to push your petition upper in line and get approved faster. it’s also free as long as you submitted your petition . all you need is your petition receipt to have access to the k3 . if you just submitted I recommend , however if you are a few months in , I don’t think it helps .

@Dahiana Pérez oh ok thank you. yeah I submitted my i130 in march of this year I don’t think it’s gonna help anymore

you should be close , my PD was March 31st … I really don’t think USCIS works in order . I seen cases after me , that were aceppted first . Don’t lose hope .

@Dahiana Pérez yea I am getting close it’s just I want it to be approved before April or May because I’m gonna be traveling back to see my husband June or July. and not worry about anything all I have to wait for his appointment in the NVC

UPDATE : my husband and I both just received the welcome letter email .

I have no clue what’s going on , all I know I’m so thankful with God right now . I’m just speechless . At 4 pm eastern I got the email saying it was sent to the department of state and at 7pm my husband and I got the email with the welcome . I’m currently on the site now paying the fees of the DS-260

@Fays Yums You may file Form I-129F together with or after filing Form I-130. If you file Form I-129F after filing Form I-130, include a copy of the Form I-797, Notice of Action, to show that USCIS received your Form I-130. There is no fee if you are filing a Form I-129F for a spouse to obtain a K-3 visa.
