it takes 3-9 months. I submitted mine July 2023 and got 1 prima facie in January 2024

@KHADIJA S did you had a work permit before you apply for vawa?

@bryan alvarado I applied for i765,i360&i485 at the same time got my EAD in February 2024

@approved blessings my state doesn't allow me to get license or even a ID with PF. And if u applied for I765 C09 based on pending I485 you will be able to work once its approved, while your Vawa is still pending.

@approved blessings You need to get work permit to apply for license and work. Prima facie is kind of pre approval of your case having met minimum requirements for your VAWA case and can avail public benefits like food and shelter and medicals

what happens if i just applied for vawa only no i485 and no i765?

@Tom Hank’s Hans @approved blessings Pls prima facie is not a pre-approval. A lot of people keep using the phrase pre-approval and it is not because there are people who got denied after receiving a prima facie. What prima facie means is that “on face value you meet the requirement to file for Vawa”. Your case would now go through the adjudication process. We also have people who never got prima facie that got approved.
