How long does this usually take.
I need to get a job asap. There are so many jobs I see that I’m interested in but I can’t apply because I don’t have my EAD. Can someone please give me some advice.

If u applying first time It takes about 6 to 12 months renewal are faster that takes about 3 months

we applied March 2024 and still waiting. we talked to our lawyer and she said sometimes cards get delayed for no good reason. I hope you get yours soon!

thank you all for actually responding. I have no one to ask these questions… honestly they wouldn’t understand the level of stress, anxiety and fear I’m going through, I’m constantly checking and stuff is changing but then I check again and it’s longer it just from 3 months to 5 months then from 5 to 4 then to 2 now it’s 3.

They say it can take up to 6 months to get it, I filed in May 2024, and mine was approved November and in hand December. But a spoiler alert, NOTHING BEATS PRAYER, and once God says it’s your time, nothing can be against you. As for the jobs, don’t be overly excited, they pay cheap in America, compared to Canada.

mine took a month! but you should probably start applying and interviewing as those takes a long time and by the time you get EAD CARD you can then start working right away. just tell your company that your EAD Card in pending! some companies are willing to wait:) wish you luck 🍀

mine’s been in since Feb01, 2024 and on Jan29, 2025 they moved it from NBC to TEXAS SERVICE CENTER saying it’s to speed up the process. I lack words honestly, countless calls, live chats and inquiry. I’m jus exhausted and losing my mind over this
