hold in abeyance
hi
I am planning on applying on VAWA.
I have a pending I-130, I-485 petition, EAD is already approved.
I’ve been told I need to ask to “hold in abeyance” my I-485. Can someone please explain me how to do it? Can’t afford a lawyer

File VAWA then send its receipt and your i485 pending receipt with a Letter telling them to hold your i485 in Abeyance to the field office that has your case.

@mari posa You have to do what @Kenny Kenny said, it’s super easy, and you won’t have to pay extra fees for filling a new I-485.
Just ask USCIS to hold your old I-485 in abeyance.
