Hi
interview on July 1, 2025 and RFE marked as received on September 26, 2025, i-130 i-485 still pending.
How do you calculate the time from the date of the interview or when the RFE was received?
is anyone still waiting?

There is no formal “clock” tied to interview date or RFE receipt date for processing time calculations. Instead, USCIS processes I-130/I-485 cases based on final adjudication readiness, meaning the timeline is measured from filing until a decision is issued, not from interview completion or RFE receipt confirmation. An interview or RFE response being received simply means the case is in an active adjudication stage, but it does not reset or define a new processing timeline.
Delays after interview or RFE receipt are typically driven by background checks, supervisory review, or pending eligibility verification, all of which must be completed before approval. Therefore, waiting periods after an interview or RFE (even several months) are common and not, by themselves, indicative of a problem. The key risk factor is not the elapsed time since interview or RFE receipt, but whether USCIS issues a new RFE, Notice of Intent to Deny, or case transfer, which would signal substantive review issues. Otherwise, continued pending status is generally normal queue-based processing.
