I already called uscis and the girl didn’t help me like, she said something about ok yah but your asylum is still pending so for that reason they approved your ead and I told her multiple times that I already have my green card and I think she was as confused as me lol.

so you should withdraw your asylum application then

Send a letter to your field office withdrawing your Asylum case.

@marieee did you go for interview? if yes, was your asylum application came up in the questions?

If your GC is a 10yr then it’s good to withdraw your asylum. But if it’s 2 yr GC I’ll advise you to leave it in the system till you get your 10yr GC.

no I did not went to an interview, it was waived and yes, I received my green card for 2 years. That was my plan, continue having my pending asylum case open because I have a lot of friends in same situation as me and they said like after you received your green card for marriage your asylum case is null because you can’t have two status but now I don’t know because I want to travel and I don’t want anything from my pending asylum attached to my name because I am afraid I would have problem entering the us?

Hey stop freaking out. Keep the ead, all you have to do is send a withdrawal letter to your asylum office

contact your court and tell them to terminate your asylum

@Marieee Traveling to your home country while your asylum is pending is a big risk. But traveling elsewhere is fine. if you have to go back to your home country then you have to withdraw your asylum completely from the system. And hope you have a healthy marriage when it’s time to apply for 10yr GC. Good luck 👍🏿
