HELP- NEXT STEPS/ TIMELINE? My EB1A I-140 got approved in June 2023. I am from India. My lawyer just filed my i485, i765 and i131 just yesterday. My PD is Jan 2019. Ported from EB2.
I’ve come to know about August 1st retrogression. I am looking for your inputs to know what my timeline from here is to get the green card. I understand that the dates need to be at least Jan 2019 (my PD). Assuming it moves to 2019 in October 2023, what is my timeline?
Thank you for your help!

2. Adjustment of Status or Consular Processing:
• If you are already in the United States and eligible to adjust your status, you can file Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) concurrently with your I-140, or you can do so once the I-140 is approved.
• If you are outside the United States or ineligible for adjustment of status, you will need to undergo consular processing at a U.S. embassy or consulate in your home country.
• The processing time for Form I-485 or consular processing can vary, but it usually takes around 8 to 14 months. Note that consular processing might be quicker in some cases.
3. Biometrics Appointment:
• After you file Form I-485, you will receive a notice for a biometrics appointment. At the appointment, your fingerprints, photograph, and signature will be taken for background checks.
• The biometrics appointment typically takes place 4 to 8 weeks after submitting Form I-485.
4. Interview (if applicable):
• If required, you and your dependents (if any) will need to attend an interview at a USCIS office. The interview is generally scheduled within 4 to 10 months after filing Form I-485.
• The interview is mainly to verify the information provided in your application and to determine your eligibility for EB1 status.
5. Approval and Green Card Issuance:
• If your EB1 petition is approved, you will be granted lawful permanent resident status (green card) in the United States. Your green card will be mailed to you if you adjust your status in the U.S. or given to you at the U.S. embassy or consulate if you undergo consular processing.
