health insurance
Hey guys, I’m wondering if you can help me out with something, maybe you have a similar experience. So I think something is medically wrong with me but I cannot go back to my home country while my marriage green card is in process. I want to know, can I try to get state health insurance? like Medicaid? I’m not working no work permit yet. do you know if it will negatively effect my USCIS case if I’m on government assistance? (if I even get approved) I’m just really scared but I cannot afford the emergency rm here. please, any advice helps

America is the only country where they won't arrest you for non payment of bills- you can pay at a later date- You can treat yourself for free and the bills will come later. So don't be scared or afraid. it's not recommend to be on government assistance while adjusting your status because it will play against you. That's why you have sponsor and joint sponsor. Good luck

aside from those suggestions, you may apply for an emergency advance parole so you can go home and have yourself treated, they will definitely give you emergency AP which may also trigger your EAD or GC.

America is the only country where you can get charged thousands of dollars only saying Hi to a hospital. and probably the only country that does not have free healthcare. I went to the hospital for a kidney stone they charged me $25K I was there 2 hours top. ( I can send the bill if anybody wants prof)

@Lina Guzman; you need to answer the question @Latoya asked you: “which state are you in?”. The state you live in goes a long way in determining what kind of insurance you can get. For example: in Los Angeles, California, you can get a medical insurance called “My Health LA” which is not considered as a public charge. Anyways, my advice is get yourself treated by whatever means available to you because the public charge rule has been relaxed by the Biden’s administration and you cannot be deemed “ineligible” under the immigration.
