if u have deportation proceedings wether your vawa was approved or not you can't travel outside the country unless that removal proceedings was dismissed by the court

If you had previous deportation , regardless of any USCIS approvals, you need to first go to court and get the removal dismissed!!! Please be very careful. The deportations do not get canceled because VAWA was approved. Only a judge has jurisdiction to terminate that, NOT USCIS, so contact a lawyer to file a motion to dismiss it, because USCIS won’t get jurisdiction to approve your i485 till the court takes care of it. don't travel! wait till you get your green card. also, make sure you get a dismissal approved before leaving. get professional help.

@olga s did you get deportstion or the letter asking you to leave the country with 33days? because they are two different things!

@shari Mc @Eddie debzy thank you for the info! I will have to check with my lawyer if it was something to do with the court ever. I don’t know what’s the difference between the deportation letter and the actual deportation but I will try to figure out that before leaving for sure! thank you so much again
