Has anyone been approved for VAWA, GC after Fraud & Security investigation on your case?
was told that my vawa or 485 case under Fraud and Security Investigation. I wasn't told about the investigation from the USCIS, obviously, but from the source which was included to my case. They had to do some verifications. I've been waiting for my approval for 4+ years and I guess there is a good chance that they are realistically trying to, digging for some accusation to make, maybe inconsistency that they can use to deny my case. So, maybe there is a suspected fraud and from my research, usually when it's forwarded to the Fraud and Security Department, it's bad. Because only 1.6% of the whole cases, like USCIS benefit applications are referred for the review.
So, a good chance will be cancelled, denied, and I'm sure l'll be explained why. But again, just checking anyone who have survived after their case was investigated? was it approved after Fraud Detection and National Security handled your case?

I’m sorry, as someone who has survived DV, to post this on another one of you guys is not okay. We all have been through a lot.
I know my case was referred to fraud & security investigation because one of my old employers said they were asked by them for some work date verification. So that’s that. I also wasn’t dramatically surprised, considering my previous lawyer who handled my marriage case was later convicted of asylum fraud and serving now. So maybe USCIS is flagging everyone who had any connection with that lawyer.
It’s also possible I gave a wrong date somewhere at the time I was grieving a close family death, my miscarriage, and dealing with my ex-husband, who turned out to be a terrible person.
All I’m trying to say is, you guys are safe. If you have a solid, real case, there’s nothing to worry about. As for me, I’m just trying to understand whether I can still get an approval after a fraud investigation, because from my research only a small number of cases go there, and most of the time they end up denied
ayel yaelDec 24, 2025
@d s they were asked recently? because yu’ve been getting many pf .. and your I485 was transfered.

i still domt get @I’ll be happy s what source.. is it someone that wrote ur affidavit?? we are all confused on the source.. vawa doesnt contact the abuser. so what source exactly?

@I’ll be happy s well if they asked work date verification this is i think not under fraud its just checking if you work there or not something i think you are good

@I’ll be happy s how long you been living in America?
I’ll be happy sDec 25, 2025
@jack jag 5 years, why?
jack jagDec 25, 2025
@I’ll be happy s if you living in USA for more than decade , you are qualified for cancellation of removal, judge may grant you green card.

@jack jag what that mean?
I eat raw garlicDec 27, 2025
@I’ll be happy s I have survived that. it was such a uphill battles to prove every accusation with proof. you have to be ready to fight. you have to prove each and every point that have against you. if you are wrong, just accept you were wrong coz you were young and scared. uscis willl forgive that but lying or misrepresentation will get you in more trouble. they are not going to announce that you have been referred to fdns. you can definitely get foia. it may not be helpful but you will know what they have on file about you.
Jay JayDec 27, 2025
I believe cancellation of removal is a 3 years rule for vawa recipient not 10 years
Ana FloresDec 28, 2025
@ob o with the new changes in vawa, they can contact the abuser to verify everything you said is true, I just hear a lawyer saying that.
ob oDec 28, 2025
@Ana Flores that doesnt make sense. so they expect the abuser to say yes i did it. i abused her or him? the abuser hates u and doesnt want u to get anything so of course they will say everything against it. i dont believe this and you shouldnt too.
