No, you don't have to worry. I'm on H1B for last few years. Make sure you use only one EAD.

congrats on that. but you can either change to H1B or use your EAD at work. EAD is better since you can do multiple jobs.

@Deep G Today I got into that I got selected in H1B lottery. Hope within a week my employer will file for H1B and by September we should get the I-797C H1B approved.

@Deep G I have a question. Should I use my combo card c9 valid for 5 years or my H1B to the Immigrstion if I wanted to travel to my country for 3 weeks vacation ??

@Tom Hank’s Hans Congratulations on getting your H1B picked up. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of knowledge on that front. From what I have read, Once we use AP, H1B gets terminated automatically. I could be wrong here, but please use this platform to get your concerns addressed.

@Deep G You are right I googled and found that it is true. So in that case we ought to keep the combo card safe and then use H1B to exit and reenter, right?

@Tom Hank’s Hans : Congrats on that. I think while entering you can use AP. You still can get the H1B visa in your passport, but don’t use at POE (Port of Entry). This is my understanding. please post additional information about this, so it will be useful for some of us at later point in time.

@Ana Sue Anna, Thank you . I was told to be very safe it is better to use H1B while leaving as well to re-enter as well. The combo card which is the EAD and Advance parole will be safe in my wallet. 🙂 Being first time , I will be having the I-797C H1B approval letter which will be used to get the H1B stamped in my passport before I return to U.S.
