Guys, I need a good and affordable immigration attorney. Any recommendations?
I’m planning to withdraw my VAWA case and get married, then file a new marriage-based green card application. Does anyone have a good and affordable immigration attorney they recommend in Florida, preferably someone experienced with transitioning from VAWA to marriage-based adjustment of status?

bro slow down if you know that you have a strong case with vawa wait until you got approved

Yeah, but I just received my 7th Prima Facie determination about two weeks ago. That probably means I have to wait at least another 6 months, and even if my VAWA gets approved after that, I’d still have to wait for the medical request and the final I-485 approval. So best-case scenario, I’m probably looking at another year, don’t you think? @GOD IS ONE GOD IS ONE

same to me 7 prima facie last one was expired since January they didn’t renew it but I still waiting patiently!!! and you see how immigration is going right now is not easy for my opinion please don’t do it 1 years is nothing time go fast so if you have your valid working permit keep working enjoy your life with your new partner precipitation come to the evil 😈 so stay cool and pray 🙏 and give a lot of charity

I would not advise you to re- married be patient and wait for you to get approved. Do you have a lawyer working with you. re- married your case would be more questionable. please be patient. you were married with an abuser and as long as you have proof you’ll be fine. contact a lawyer if you don’t have one.

@Ivan b that’s not true. I got my last pf and got an approval within 2 months. please hold tight, you’re almost there. do not complicate your case if you know what I mean.

I went through the same situation: I had a pending VAWA case involving my ex-husband (from March 2022), but I divorced in 2023 and remarried in 2024. Since I didn't have the correct information, I only filed with my new husband in March 2025, at which point I withdrew the previous case. I have been waiting since then; only my work permit (WP) was approved in August 2025, while my Form I-485 case is still being processed.

@Sean kan I didn’t know that is possible. but didn’t you get a RFE or something prior to the approval?

you remarried in 2024 and you did not have the correct information for what? I couldn’t understand.

Try to make consultationwith lawyer Sharifa Tharpe she's in Florida and specialist in Vawa cases I consulted her and gave me a great advice about my case you should consult her before you make a bad decision in your situation.

@Ivan b yes, I remarried in 2024; I wasn't aware that getting married meant losing my eligibility for VAWA, which is why I only submitted the new petition in 2025. I wrote to my congressman on august 7 2026. The tracker showed an update on my Form I-485 on the 10th, but I still haven't received anything.
