Grren card 10 years
guys, I got my green card last year, however my husband is asking me for divorce😔😔😔 he wants to separate. I have both my miden last name and his last name. what should I do keep his last name to avoid all the process of filing I 90, because I was told that would take a year and a half for them to send you a new green card or just keep the last name and change it. during naturalization? thanks

I would suggest keep the name and change it during naturalization it’s not worth all the stress to change it. Also know this too shall pass, God’s got you!

if you already received your 10 year green card you really don’t need him for any immigration papers. you can file your citizenship on your own when it’s time. On the divorce papers, they’ll ask if you if you plan to keep the name or change it. You can change your name and it won’t affect your citizenship. on your citizenship application theyll ask you for your previous names
