Green Card Approved after long wait
EDITED: Guys, I just wana come back to inform you all that itโ€™s officially done. My Green Card was delivered this morning. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!! Apparently, they forgot to issue my card in October so I called them on Nov 6 to start a Service Request for Non-delivery of card. They responded in 2 days that my card is now in production(Nov 8). Yesterday Nov 15, I got two notifications โ€œCard Was Producedโ€ and later in the afternoon I got โ€œCard was picked up by USPSโ€. Then this morning around 11am, my card was delivered. PRAISE THE LORD GOD!!! What I will say is never give up. Your approval is next in line. Hi community, I decided to wait until I receive the physical copy of my green card before posting this but I thought it might be helpful for someone here. This is my story: I applied for both form I-130 & I-485 in January 2022. My case started processing so so fast after that. My priority date after USCIS received my forms was February 1, 2022. Attened biometrics in April 2022, called for interview with my spouse on June 6, 2022. Interview went very very well. Officer approved my case on the spot and informed me to expect my green card within 7-21 days. Now hereโ€™s where the wait started. The petition status changed to case approved on June 7,2022 (a day after the interview) however I-485 remained Interview Scheduled since that date. The Waiting Stress & What I did: Honestly, the stress is real and it can be extremely worrying if you donโ€™t try to keep yourself busy with something else. I kept waiting for about 15 months after interview for I-485 to be approved but nothing. Here is what I did. 1. I called ISCIS to speak to someone for about 3 times and in all the calls, they all gave me the usual generic answer of โ€œYour case is still within processing timeโ€. I got tired of that answer and decided to stop calling them again. Remember the processing times kept increasing pushing the time I could contact them again far and far. 2. My spouse and I started talking about sueing them in order to get some sort of decision. This was an option I found from an immigration lawyer (Jim Hacking) but I was scared to go ahead with that option. And also wasnโ€™t ready to pay over $5,000 to sue USCIS so we decided to hold on and use all other options available. 3. Finally I wrote to my State Congressman for his help inquiring from USCIS and requesting them to approve the case because itโ€™s been so so long after interview. I received an email from the office of the Cobgressman on September 21, 2023 (which is just 1 day after I emailed them). They asked me to fill a form before they can contact uscis on my behalf. In the form I filled, I specifically stated how long my case has been, the word of mouth I received from the officer after the interview, and how the delays has affected my mental health and the fact that I couldnโ€™t travel with my spouse back home because I stand a chance of loosing my students visa F-1 which I maintained during this process. On September 22, the emailed me that theyโ€™ve contacted USCIS on my behalf and will inform me of any decision. On September 23, I received an update from uscis saying โ€œCase Is Actively Reviewed by USCISโ€. That gave me hope but I didnโ€™t know how long that was going to take. So I kept praying and hoping for a good decision soon. On October 3, 2023 I go a second update that โ€œCase is Approvedโ€. Lessons learned: 1. Two things you can do as you wait: - PRAY and stop worrying about your case about your case (Philippians 4:6) - Believe and have faith that your case is next in line for approval whenever you hear someoneโ€™s case is being approved. Itโ€™s a positive medicine that heals your soul and spirit as you wait. 2. Use all free options available before considering the paid option (which is paying an attorney to sue) 3. Utilize you state congressman/woman or Senator. Tell him/her how you want them to help, how the delay has affected you (it can be mental, financial, etc). The verse that has been helpful to me during this process is my favorite scripture in the Bible (Philippians 4:6). It can be a blessing word and encouragement for you. Wishing everyone best of luck and I declare in the name of Jesus Christ that YOUโ€™RE NEXT IN LINE FOR APPROVAL. I am open to answer any questions you may have about my process.

@ana.fh . This is exactly what I sent as part of the form I filled: Please provide a brief explanation of the problem: I applied for a Green Card based on marriage with a US citizen. We applied for the I-130 and I-485 concurrently on February 1, 2022, after we married on July 27, 2021. We had our interview on June 6, 2022, with the immigration officer approving our case on the spot and informing me to expect the Green Card within 7-21 days. While my wifeโ€™s I-130 was finally approved on June 7, 2022, my I-485 application is still pending over a year later (15 months after the interview) despite being filed concurrently. This has really been impacting my mental health and personal life since I have not been able to visit my family with my spouse since the pandemic, and now Iโ€™m held back by the immigration process. I hope you can help me urge the Memphis, TN field office to approve my I-485 application as soon as possible. I also provided all my dates, case number, and Alien number.

@power of prayer ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Hello, it's good to read your case, and hope so and our cases are the next to be approved. I wanted to ask you a question. After I changed your i485 to approved, did the I797 approval letter arrive? I went to the interview 2 weeks ago and the next day I changed the I485 to approved but the I130 still appears as under review, but I did receive the approval letter I797 for the I485

@power of prayer ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ are you saying that you submitted I-485 after submitting the I130? Iโ€™m asking because I submitted the I-129F before we were married, now weโ€™re married, and Iโ€™m wondering should we now submit I-130 or I-485? And hoping this doesnโ€™t add much more time.
